My Professional Story
Building Better Workplaces Through People, Systems, and Strategy
I am Sagar Thapa, an HR professional with an MBA in Human Resource Management and experience spanning HR operations, workforce coordination, recruitment, training and development, research, and digital process improvement.
My professional journey has been shaped by one central interest: understanding how people, processes, and technology can work together to build more effective organizations.
From HR Foundations to Workforce Operations
I began developing my HR experience through internships, training initiatives, consultancy, and organizational leadership in Nepal. These experiences introduced me to different aspects of people management, from recruitment coordination and employee documentation to training activities, research, and organizational processes.
At Varun Beverages Nepal, I gained exposure to recruitment, onboarding, attendance and leave administration, HRIS-related processes, and employee engagement activities. My experience with Btrack India further developed my understanding of recruitment coordination, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and HR documentation.
Alongside these roles, my involvement in training and development, research, and consultancy helped me build a broader perspective on organizational needs and the importance of structured, people-centered practices.
Managing People, Processes, and Systems in Qatar
Since joining Pigeon Engineering Projects in Doha in January 2026, my role has expanded into a combination of HR and administration, workforce coordination, employee support, and process improvement.
Working in an environment involving more than 3,000 employees has strengthened my ability to balance employee needs with operational and management requirements. My responsibilities include workforce database management, employee coordination across project sites and head office, documentation, recruitment and manpower processes, guidance, training support, and follow-up.
I also lead the HRMS project, coordinating the identification of operational requirements, reviewing necessary modules, supporting testing, and helping align the system with practical HR and workforce management needs.
Alongside my core responsibilities, I lead the direction and coordination of Pigeon Engineering Projects' branding and digital presence initiative, including its website development project.
These responsibilities have reinforced my belief that effective HR requires both a strong understanding of people and the ability to improve the systems that support them.
My Approach to HR
I approach HR as a connection between employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
I value clear communication, reliable documentation, thoughtful employee support, and structured processes. I also believe that technology should solve practical problems, improve access to information, and support better coordination rather than add unnecessary complexity.
My interests continue to grow around HR operations, workforce strategy, HR technology, employee development, and data-informed decision-making. I am particularly interested in opportunities where I can contribute to improving HR processes while continuing to develop as a strategic HR professional.
Education and Continuous Development
I completed my MBA in Human Resource Management at the School of Management, Tribhuvan University, following my Bachelor of Business Administration at LA GRANDEE International College, Pokhara University.
My academic background complements my practical experience and ongoing interest in research, organizational behavior, workforce management, and professional learning.
I continue to invest in developing my understanding of workforce strategy, HR systems, and the evolving role of HR in modern organizations.
Looking Ahead
I want to build a career that connects sound HR practices with meaningful organizational improvement. My goal is to grow from strong operational foundations toward broader responsibility in HR strategy, workforce planning, people development, and HR technology.
I bring a combination of hands-on HR experience, workforce coordination, system implementation involvement, research, and project coordination. Most importantly, I approach my work with a willingness to learn, a respect for people, and a commitment to making processes work better.
Good HR makes work easier for people, and that is what makes the business stronger.
If you are looking for an HR professional who understands day-to-day workforce operations while taking an active interest in systems and continuous improvement, I welcome the opportunity to connect.
